How do I know when it is actually time to sell a stock on the simulator?

Beginner Investing

I have been playing around with the trading platform for a couple of weeks now, and while buying feels straightforward, I am totally lost on the exit strategy. For instance, if I buy something like INTBREW and it drops a bit, should I panic and sell, or just hold it forever and see what happens? How do more experienced people decide when to let go?

Omo, welcome to the simulator struggle—buying is sweet, but knowing when to exit na where the real work dey. Don't go panic-selling just because INTBREW drops a few kobo, because market normally dey shake, but you also no suppose marry any stock forever if the fundamentals don spoil. Before you even enter the trade, just set your mind say "if this thing reach here I take my profit" or "if e scatter to this point, I cut my loss," so emotion no go make decisions for you.

Exit strategies on the NGX simulator shouldn't be driven by emotional reactions to short-term volatility like a minor INTBREW dip, but rather by predetermined thesis invalidation points or macroeconomic shifts affecting consumer goods margins. A disciplined approach involves setting clear valuation ratios or technical stop-losses upon entry, so you are reacting to quantitative signals rather than market noise. Remember that holding indefinitely without a re-evaluation framework risks capital lockup in underperforming sector laggards when better risk-adjusted opportunities emerge elsewhere on the board.
