I've been watching the order book on PRESCO this week, but the intraday spread makes it tricky to get a clean fill without slipping. Are most of you waiting for a clear pullback to support before deploying simulated capital, or just scaling in gradually through limit orders? Curious how others are managing their execution timing right now.
How are you timing your entries on PRESCO with the current spread on the sim?

That wide spread on PRESCO can really mess up your sim fills if you are chasing it intraday. What’s been working better for me on the platform is staying patient and dropping resting limit orders near obvious support levels rather than crossing the spread with market orders. Even on a simulator, practicing that discipline with scaling in saves you from unnecessary slippage that eats up your paper profits before the move even starts.
I am really glad you asked this because the spread on PRESCO has been tripping me up on the sim all week too! Since I am still learning how to read the order book without getting caught by slippage, I keep going back and forth between trying limit orders or waiting for a proper pullback. For those of us still figuring this out, is there a specific rule of thumb you use to decide when the bid-ask gap is just too wide to bother placing a trade?
